Film Roll
A disposable camera for weddings and parties. One QR code, a fixed number of shots per guest, no retakes, no filters, and the whole roll develops after the event.
What it is
The host creates an event, sets how many shots each guest gets and when the film "develops", and prints one QR code for the tables. Guests scan it, get a viewfinder, and shoot until their shots run out. No previewing, no deleting, no retaking. After the event the host develops the roll and gets the full gallery.
Why I built it
Disposable cameras on wedding tables work because the constraint is the feature. Nobody takes forty photos of themselves when they only have twenty four shots, and nobody edits out the unflattering ones. Every app that tried to digitise this made the mistake of adding retakes and filters, which quietly removes the only thing that made it fun.
How it works
Three surfaces. A host dashboard for creating events and pulling the QR. A guest camera at a tokenised URL, no signup, no app install, because asking a wedding guest to download something is how you get zero photos. A reveal screen for the host afterwards.
Where it stands
v1 works end to end in device local demo mode, which means the photos live on the phone that took them. The next step is Supabase so the roll actually assembles across devices, which is the difference between a demo and a product.
